We do accept urgent applications from students arriving within two weeks or less from the time we receive their application, with an additional rush fee of $100 CAD. However, it is highly recommended that you apply for a homestay at least 4 weeks before your expected arrival date.

If you’re unhappy with your initial host family match, we advise a two-week trial with your host family, supported by our staff.  If justified issues persist after this trial, we’ll arrange a no-cost host family change. Changes are only made after meeting the host family.

Our dedicated staff will work on reconciliation, managing expectations, and addressing cultural differences. If problems persist and can’t be resolved, we’ll arrange a host family change at no extra cost, with urgent changes be done immediately.

The initial payment to process your application includes a registration fee, deposit *, payment for the first 4 weeks of your stay, and any additional services such as transportation or custodianship if requested. Subsequent payments will be made monthly.
All financial transactions, both prior to and during your stay, be conducted exclusively through MS Homestays.
*Deposit is fully reimbursable at the end of your stay, minus a $30 CAD processing transaction fee

We embrace Canada’s multiculturalism and work with diverse families that align with MS Homestays’ values. All families go through a thorough process, including an online questionnaire, phone interview, reference checks, onsite visit, police check verification, and annual updates. We continuously review student ratings to enhance overall satisfaction and improvement.

While we do our best to consider your preferences, we cannot guarantee a specific location. Host families are conveniently situated near public transportation. On average, the commute time between most schools and Homestay hosts ranges from 40 to 50 minutes by public transportation.

Yes, we provide guidelines to both students and host families to ensure a positive experience for all. Common rules include respecting each other’s privacy and adhering to house rules set by the host family.

Yes, if you intend to extend your stay, kindly notify us promptly to secure your room reservation. We will make every effort to accommodate your request, subject to the availability of your host family.

We take into account any dietary restrictions or food allergies you may have when matching you with a host family. Please provide this information during your application, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

 

Meal plans typically includes two or three daily meals, depending on your preference. You’ll have self-served breakfast and lunch, while dinner is a hot meal prepared by your host family. Lunch is a packed meal for you to take to school.

You’ll find basic bedding and towels provided by the host family. While it’s recommended to bring your own towel, it’s ultimately up to your preference.

Your homestay covers essential services like electricity, water, and Wi-Fi. However, you are responsible for personal items such as laundry soap, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioners, and similar necessities.
